Music / Organ
My name is Nigel MacArthur and welcome to my website. Here I hope to tell you something about myself and the things I get up to at work and socially. I live in Kent, in a town called Sittingbourne on the A2, the main road that runs from Dover to London, and am about 45 miles from the City of London. It's about 15 minutes to Rochester and about 30 minutes to Canterbury in the other direction.

I work on the radio in Kent, freelancing for a company called
KMFM, and this leads me to various points in the county. Sometimes in Thanet, Canterbury or Folkstone in the east, and Rochester or Tonbridge in the west. On these stations, I use the name 'Nigel Harris'. 'MacArthur' was deemed too long for radio use! This was decided when I worked for the pirate station Radio Caroline up until the early 90's. After Caroline I spent five years at Invicta FM and a short time in Essex on what was known as The Breeze. Radio Caroline  now broadcasts on Sky and on WorldSpace. Also available on the net at www.radiocaroline.co.uk

I also enjoy music not associated with the style I play at work, and that is
Organ and Choral Music. I have spent many years learning the organ, starting at school and continuing to this day. I am Associate Organist at St. Michael's Church in Sittingbourne and usually play for two services on Sunday. I also get called upon to play at funerals and weddings. I attend as many organ recitals as I can, mostly at Rochester Cathedral as that organ is my pride and joy! I have played at Evensong on a number of occasions in Rochester Cathedral and I guess these services must rank as highlights in my life!

See some pictures of the Rochester Organ on the organ page.
