Brenda Neily was a Breast Cancer survivor from Massachusetts who  wanted to help our group put together our International Twenty Plenty I Breast Cancer Charity Quilts™.

During her visit to Virginia she decided on hostessing her own Nifty Fifty ™ and Twenty Plenty™ groups.

Brenda Neily was our Nifty Fifty 6 ™ Hostess, Nifty Fifty 4 ™ Co-Hostess and our Twenty Plenty II ™ Hostess.

Unfortunately Brenda breast cancer returned before she could complete her groups.

Vickie Ratthaler and myself took over her groups and completed them.

During Brenda's illness she wanted to make a quilt for me as a thank you for the work I did in creating and maintaining our Nifty Fifty ™ quilting groups.

Brenda  shopped for the theme fabric which was a gorgeous Hoffman print.   She bought a whole bolt of fabric which she planned to ship out to our Nifty Fifty Quilters™ so they could make state quilt blocks for the quilt.

Sadly Brenda lost her fight to Breast Cancer on April 14, 2000.  Marjorie Young took over the project and saw it through to the end.

She mailed out fabric to those who would like to make a quilt block.  She sewed the quilt blocks together, quilted it and mailed it to my house.

Marjorie was one of our very first participants in my Nifty Fifty One Exchange™ and we have remained good friends over the years.

I will never forget the day the quilt arrived in the mail.  Tears came to my eyes as soon as I saw the quilt.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to every Nifty Fifty™ Quilter who contributed to this very special quilt.

I would especially like to thank Marjorie.

The quilt's home is on a quilt rack in my foyer.  Many visitors to my house and comment on the quilt and we spread it out and they hear the story behind the quilt.

n Loving Memory of Brenda Neily who was our Twenty Plenty Plus II Hostess, Nifty Fifty 4 co-hostess and Nifty Fifty 6 Hostess

Brenda lost her fight with Breast Cancer on April 14, 2000

Our Nifty Fifty 4, Nifty Fifty 6 and our Twenty Plenty Plus II international quilt blocks will always carry Brenda's memory, spirit and love amongst them at all times.
