Inuyasha News

BREAKING NEWS!!!

Viz Corporation, the people who run Inuyasha, have announced that in September the series will be ending in Japan. The 4th movie is still planned and most likely will be something of an OVA for the series.

I'll post more news on this when I find it. Hopefully, if this really is the end of the series that there will be a few OVAs to keep us satisfied. ^_^

The Movies:
The Inuyasha movie will be opening for a brief period in select cities across the United States this summer.(Not in Utah) *is pissed off*

Following that, the first movie, Affections Touching Accross Time, will be released on DVD Sepetember 7, 2004.*hopefully*

Movie 2, The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass, will be released on DVD December 28, 2004*highly doubtable*

Movie 3, Swords of an Honorable Ruler, has not yet been given a release date, or an official English title.*you probably won't be seeing it for another two years AHAHAHA!*

Movie 4 will be released in Japanese theaters this December. The title, in Japanese, is "Inuyasha: Guren no Houraijima" ("The Crimson Hourai Island"). That is all information I have on the four movies.

The Music:

The next album: The second Best of Inuyasha: Seifu Meigetsu ("Refreshing Breeze, Bright Moon"). No track listing available yet.

On August 4, Brand New World, the current closing theme in Japan sung by V6, the single will be released on the "Thunderbird" album.*Ooo, my dad likes the Thunderbirds. I can easily talk him into getting the album*

On August 11 Shimatani Hitomi's song Angelus, the current opening theme in Japan will be available.

The Anime:

The DVD volume 19 is now available and, later in August or early July, depending on where you are, the volume 20 will be released.*wow, that's quicker than usual*

The Manga:

VIZ closed their publishing gap by releasing manga volumes 11 and 12. Volume 18's release is imminent.

The Video Game:

The PS2 Video Game, Secrets of the Cursed Mask, is deemed to hit shelves some time this November. The release date has already been pushed back twice, let's not hope for it again. *in other words... fat chance at getting it for Christmas*

Other Merchandise:

The new line of Inuyasha plushies is now available. While not the most accurate in portrayal, some of them are quite cute.

The Inuyasha 2005 calendar is now available in select stores and Amazon.com

Inuyasha Action Figures have also just been released. You can now purchase Inuyasha, Kagome, Kikyou, and Sesshoumaru. More are planned to be coming out in the future. Only place I've seen them for purchase is Here!

Rumors:

Rumors persist that the Inuyasha anime series is ENDING in Japan in September! Only time will tell if there is any truth to these rumors. As usual, take everything you hear with a grain of salt. It is not known if Takahashi plans on ending the manga as well, but many signs point to it ending by or around Volume 40.

I'll post when I get more information on more things.
