When I purchased my EVOII, in 2001, it was missing a lot of parts and a lot of others had to be replaced. Most of them were body parts. It was missing the front spoiler grill, the EVOII rear wing and the rear window deflector. The EVOII rear wing being illegal in Switzerland. I purchased a new EVOI rear wing and the roof deflector from my Mercedes Benz Dealer because I wanted genuine parts! The reason why this EVOII only had 18,000 km when I bought it because it was in a garage for 10 years and didn't move much. Therefore, I had to replace many engine parts such as the radiator and I had to made sure that it didnt have any major problems. This was checked by my Mercedes Dealer who sold 2 EVOII' s back in 1990. Every thing was find although it had been in the past involved in an accident. Only cosmetic damage nothing too bad.
I am a lucky owner of an EVOII since August 2001. I currently have 235hp but I am going to install a Turbo in order to get at least (Scroll down to read more about the Mosselman Turbocharger. As you can see, it has a EVO I rear wing. The main reason being that the EVOII factory rear wing is illegal in Switzerland!! This beauty only had 18'000 km when I bought it!!! It now has a little more than 51'000 km. My Benz was built in Bremen on the third on July 1990. For more info about my Mercedes.
300hp!!
Here is the list of modifications I have done and the ones I will do in the future:
1. Recaro SPG raceseat as a passenger seat. 2. Recaro A8 for the driver. However,I will in the near future purchase another Recaro SPG so it will look better. 3. Momo steering wheel. The factory one being way to big. 4. Purchased EVOI rear wing and EVOII window deflector.
Here are all future mods I will do on my Mercedes with in the next year:
1. Short Shifter II from DaVinci Motorsport. 2. Front and rear strut bars from DaVinci Motorsport. 3. Larger wheel: I have not yet made my mind about which wheels to buy, but the rear wheels will be at least 275 !! In front, I will probably stay with the 245/x/17. My most important modification will be the Mosselman Turbo. I have been thinking of a few alternative solutions, but this is the best one. I do not want to replace my engine by a lower compression ratio because it would not be a genuine engine after that! Therefore, I will keep the EVOII engine, redo it completely like new and then install the Mosselman Turbokit. This kit as been built in order to be reliable and work perfectly with a stock Mercedes engine. Although the EVOII as a high compression ratio, it won't be a problem because this kit as been built to be perfectly reliable, even with the 2.3-16 which had the same compression ratio as the EVOII.
