What a wonderful evening for rollerblading last night.  For those souls brave enough to head out along the canal with the skies looking the way that they did, it would seem that we won again … this time sweeties, this time.

The path along the canal was, as always, in excellent condition (including the boys in shorts jogging in the opposite direction) as we skated down towards our glorious Parliament.  We had some confusion close to the Terry Fox monument and members started to scatter, but we pulled it together and headed up through Major's Hill Park to look at the fabulous landscaping that has been taking place there since the late 80s.  Down and around to the locks where we crossed, around the base of Parliament and back again.  The first hill was a doozy and our intrepid, yet unstoppable novices braved it like the troopers that they are.  I must confess I was not the only seasoned veteran a little apprehensive about the hill but as we all discovered it came to a wonderful flat right at the base.

Back down the canal to our gracious hostess's abode, that sassy Sister of Strathcona, the ever opulent Darlene Stewart.  Things haven't changed much at ol' 155, and apparently the ghost of Paul still roams the corridors of this fabulous duplex.

We all headed up to the re-discovered patio on the third floor (Darryl will do anything to get boys to go up to his room, but a barbecue? Please sweetie, that's a bit much. *grin*

Darryl had a fabulous spread of good ol' stick-to-your-ribs burgers and dogs.  Traditional fare for those of us from the country who aren't quite used to the word "pasta" yet (we still refer to them as "noodles" *grin*) Darryl and David manned the grill with Paul keeping a constant vigil so that nothing burned.

Conversation was, as always, vivacious and vicious.  If you weren't there, you were probably attacked - hell even if you were there you were probably attacked! *grin* Todd C. was busy soliciting business from MC Archie while Chris Luesby was just soliciting. (tramp!) *grin*

We were happy to include the lovely Len and glamorous Greg with us in their first skate with the Blade Betties.  You all remember Len don't you? He's the one that put those nasty little marks on Chris' neck. *grin* (Oh my goodness, this is getting nasty, I suppose I should wrap it up!.  *grin*)

Well, in closing there are a few things that I would like to touch on.  Don’t forget that Professor Pratt is hosing next Tuesday (August 18, 1998) at his place.  Directions will follow shortly under separate cover.

For those interested, this Saturday Mr. & Mrs. Noel/Coopee are going to be having a little get together to celebrate Princess Stephie's return from her Royal Tour of the western regions of Canada.  Your attendance would be greatly appreciated (and expected - imagine how hurt poor Stephie would be if no one showed up - besides, she's supposed to bring us back gifts!! *grin*) Please RSVP to either Paul Noel, Todd Coopee or myself to let them know of your attendance.

Big cyber-kisses until the real thing sweeties,
Sean T.
