Why Protest War?

The song goes, "War! What is it good for? Absolutely nothing!" Well, war is good for things. And you know you like it; don't try to deny it. I for one, do not like war, but I would not protest it, as I know that protesting does "absolutely nothing." But I am pro-war in that I believe war is necessary in human existence; tis a cycle of life and death, good and bad, yin and yang, peace and war. As long as humans exist in this evil world they have created, there will always be war, just as there is always peace that follows it. And even the "peace" is more like a war, and the "war" is more like peace. Notice that in peaceful times, humans get bored and do hurtful things as entertainment; in war, people join together and help each other out more than they would in "peaceful" times. How ironic is that? The two work hand in hand, and cannot exist alone. This is why we should not protest war. Protesting doesn't do anything anyway. All it does it block traffic and cause trouble with the police. And you know inside that you really want war to make your life exciting, so the whole protesting thing is just a show and frankly, pretty stupid, considering all I just said.

List of good things about war, that I wrote down in Literature class on September 11th, 2001, in response to the terrorist attacks:
1. makes us wiser
2. punishes for all the harm we've done
3. lowers the high population
4. settles the dispute that war caused
5. makes us appreciate what we have
6. gives other animals a chance to get un-extinct (sp?)
7. makes life exciting for everyone

There ya have it, folks, seven ways in which war is good. There are probably more that I haven't thought of.

[2009 update] In fact, there were. Here are seven technological advances that wouldn't have happened without war:*
1. Gameboy
2. iPod
3. microwave oven
4. baked beans
5. car navigation systems
6. online shopping
7. man landing on the moon

In conclusion, let's ask the question, What is war NOT good for? Well, the only thing there is is death of "innocent" people. Well, humans aren't innocent, except for babies, and death is inevitable and part of the cycle of life. The human population is high enough. We're over six billion these days. 250 babies are born in the world each minute.* War is long overdue.
