Why Verbal Humor?
If you know me, you've probably heard me say that I don't like comedies. Well, I like some comedies, but not the current American ones. Actually, I do like old American comedies. I like the black and white ones like "I Love Lucy," "Bewitched," and "I Dream of Jeannie." Those have good, clean humor. And they're hilarious. The reason I don't like American humor is because tis either a dirty joke or a verbal joke.

I don't find jokes about sex and homosexuals funny. It depresses me, knowing that money is being made off of that corrupting type of media. I don't like cartoon comedies that are like South Park and stuff, because those also have dirty humor. They use cuss words and stuff to be funny, and it's not. At least, not to me. Anime humor is kool. I like Kodomo no Omocha. I don't like the type of humor in comedy anime like Chobits and Furi Kuri, but tis funnier to me than American humor. Most of the humor in Kodomo no Omocha is clean. And tis the funniest anime I've ever seen! Watch it if you haven't seen it already. Go rent it at a video store or something. Tis proof that dirty humor is not needed. There are plenty of other ways to make a comedy funny.

I tend to like anime comedies better than American comedies, even if the humor isn't dirty. American humor tends to be all verbal, like in "Justice League" -- that red suited superhero always cracks some joke when there is a serious matter going on. I hate verbal jokes like that. Tisn't funny; tis just corny. American movies have that type of humor too. "Princess Bride" is a grand example of this. That movie was one of my friend's favorite movies, so I decided to watch it. It was filled with that stupid humor. Practically everything that came out of their mouths was a stupid joke. A lot of medieval movies are like that, and it disappoints me, since I like medieval setting-type movies. The dub of Digimon has humor like that too. I like Digimon, but I can't stand the humor. It makes me mad. They put in humor where it's not supposed to be.

I hope I explained all that okay. Tis sort of hard to explain what I mean by a "verbal joke." Hopefully you guys know what I mean if you've seen the examples I mentioned above. I'm not racist or anything, when I say I don't like American humor; I just find that American comedies have that type of humor I don't like, so I don't like American comedies.
