*X = by Clamp; Kamui Shiro is a teenage boy, wielding the power of God, returning to Tokyo after a six-year absence to meet his fate. Stalked by Shiki on the very first day of return, it was only the beginning as events unfold one after another. For he is Kamui, the person who chooses the fate of the Earth. As the promise day, 1999, is fast approaching, the Dragons of Heaven (known as the Seven Seals) who protect the Earth, and the Dragons of Earth (known as the Seven Angels who destroy the Earth) gathered around Kamui. The battle that concerns the future of Earth has begun, and Kamui learns of the cruel truth of his fate. There are seven Kakkai located in Tokyo that protect the Earth. When all seven crumble under the hands of the seven dragons of earth, the world is doomed. The Dreaming Princess, Hinoto, has forseen this in her dream, and gathers the Seven Dragons of Heaven to oppose it. Yet her one and only younger sister, Kanoe, gathers the Dragons of Earth to fullfill it. The irony and contradiction, are resulted when people fight only to fullfill their dreams.
