*Ramna 1/2 = It's a basic martial arts comedy. Ranma Saotome has been afflicted with a curse from the "Spring of Drown Girl," a very tragic legend. So when
he is splashed with cold water, he turns into a girl. The tomboy girl who hates him is his feonce (sp?); all the characters (except for parents) either have a crush
on Ranma or his feeonsay. The manga of Ramna 1/2 pretty much revolves around Kodachi's and Akane's cooking abilities, and a very incriminating picture of
Ranma and Kodachi. It also shows a bit of rivalry between Kuno and Ranma for Akane's "affection".
*Reader Dream = ~ an author named Nenene. A
blonde girl takes Nenene in her car, driven by
the blonde girl's sister Maggie, to take her to the
place she's staying. When they get there, the
room blows up. Since she has no place to go,
the blonde girl lets Nenene live with her. Nenene
also has another sister besides the chofeur (sp?)
-- a little girl named an A name that I now forget.
Nenene calls her Chibikko though. Nenene is
asked by her publisher or whatever to not do the
autograph signing that day, but Nenene won't let
something like that hurt her pride. She goes
through with the autograph thing. A guy ends up
putting a bomb there, and Nenene is forced to
balance a little ball inside a pencil/pen; if the ball
reaches either side of the pen/cil, the bomb will
go off. While the guy and Nenene are talking,
Chibikko sneaks around and cuts the chord of
the bomb. Maggie and the blonde girl start doing
all this magic with paper, and save Nenene.
Nenene apparently knows what they're doing;
she calls it "using paper." Later she is attacked
by the same guy, and the three sisters save her
again. Nenene is in search of a girl she once
knew who was crazy about reading.
*Real Bout High School = Ryoko is an unusual high school girl in an unusual high school. In a curriculum consistingmostly of martial arts classes and a school full of students who settle their quarrels with duels, Ryoko has proven herself able to take on the toughest of her fellow students. But when she's sucked into another dimension where she must do battle with a host of supernatural and demonic adversaries, Ryoko is in for the fight of her life.
*Reboot = from Canada, so I guess it isn't an anime?
*Red Hawk = ?
*Requiem From the Darkness = Takes place in the 1860s. Momosuke, a would-be author, is traveling the countryside in search of 100 stories to incorporate into a book. On the road, he meets a trickster, a pupeteer, and a bird caller. As the four traveling companions witness the ugliest aspects of human nature, they decide that they should mete out punishment to those who have transgressed the lines of acceptable behavior.
*RG Veda = another one of Clamp's anime. This one is about an ancient prophecy that proclaims that six warriors will end a brutal tyrant's rule.
*Round Vernian Vifam = aired in 1983; based largely on the Gundam model mechas, but were conceptually focused on the principles of maneuvering in space.
*Ruin Explorers = Two girls are seeking ultimate power. One named Irhie wants to use it to get rid of the scar that some guy (maybe her father) made her have
by giving her a curse. The other named Fam one wants to use the power to make friends with people. In the beginning, they run into some villianish people -- a
lying merchant guy named Gulf, another witch lady (Irhie and Fam are witches) n amed Rasha, and her dense, but strong male partner Miguel. Fam meets a
prince named Lyle, and gets into trouble because of him, but doesn't mind because she likes him; Rasha also likes him. The trouble they came across was this
*very* evil guy named Rugudorull who wanted to seek the ultimate power for bad things -- bad things as in destroying the world, not for greedy things (like
money) as the others wanted. This guy killed that prince's homeland a while back, and the prince wants revenge sort of, but pretty much just wants to stop him
from controlling the world. The prince is a master swordsman, and Fam got a sword and gave it to him. Irhie has strong powers that almost match the evil guy's
powers, but everytime she uses her powers she turns into a mouse/rat. And as for Fam, she doesn't like to use her powers much because it will "make the
spirits not like her anymore." Anyway, all those bad people team up with Irhie and Fam in order to stop Rugudorull.
*Rurouni Kenshin = ~ Himoru Kenshin (which means "heart of sword"), who is a former assasin who is trying to stop killing. He meets this girl, Kaoru, who
convices him to stay with her in her dojo. They become friends and make other friends (Sanosuke and Yahiko) who also sword fight like them. They save
their dojo and the innocent from being treated unfairly. As the story progresses, the basic summery would be that five boys, who have mystical armor, try to
save the world from destruction. I think.
