ANOTHER STRAWMAN - Old Trick by Servant

SERVANT GOES WILD:

Glenn,

Don't create a straw man, AKA Catholic Church, that you can beat up.

The core issue on this board are INC doctrines.

INC, such as yourself are notorious for using the RCC as the whipping boy to justify INC doctrines.

By the way, the council of Nicea was ad 325. Read the work of Athanasius against Arius. Even better, find out what happened after ad 325.

Athanasius against the world. Does that ring a bell.

GLENN'S REPLY:

MY REPLY: Both of you, Buljan and servant, are effectively saying that I am getting off subject. I disagree. Part and parcel of the doctrine of the INC is that the RCC is Babylon, the harlot that sits on many waters, right? Remember that from your days as a member, servant? Therefore, is it not my duty as a member of the true Church of Christ to understand the work of Satan, to see it for what it really is - and to warn others away from it? The apostasy of the first-century Church of Christ IS a core doctrine of the INC, and unless you understand what drives the catholic church and how pervasive the deception and corruption have been, then you cannot comprehend the enormity of Satan's plans and the success he has had thus far. Furthermore, if you do not approach the subject of which is the true Church without carefully examining the history of the claimants, then you will handicap yourself in the search for salvation.

YOU SAID: "By the way, the council of Nicea was ad 325. Read the work of Athanasius against Arius. Even better, find out what happened after ad 325. Athanasius against the world. Does that ring a bell."

MY REPLY: I remember Arias, but not Athanasius. To give you your due, I will go ahead and research that and get back to you in a couple days. As far as the date fo the council of Nicea, okay, so I was off by 70 years...but that still means that the doctrine of the trinity was not made official by the catholic church until nearly three centuries after the death of Christ, and my point remains valid.
