You Can Make a Difference
We need volunteers to sew, knit, crochet, or quilt preemie sized items.

Our goal is to provide every premature baby in hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) with his or her own blanket, hat, booties, outfit and stuffed animal to use while in the hospital and at home.

Hats, blankets and booties help keep these babies warm.  Premature babies have not developed the fat they need to stay warm.

Hats and booties help hide the scary tubes and monitors that premature babies must have.  This helps Mommies and Daddies to be less firghtened and they can bond better with baby.

Because premature babies are so unexpected and small, families have trouble finding clothing to fit their baby, and often preemie sized clothing is expensive.  Many of these tiny babies leave the hoispital with no clothing that fits.

Hospital NICU's are very scary places for Mommies and Daddies and a cheerful blanket or hat often eases the pain of having a baby in the hospital.  these happy items often bring smiles to the hospital staff taking care of these babies, too, helping to make their jobs a little less stressful.
