I received your letter & the parcel all right the day before yesterday - The cigars are very good & all most acceptable here as everything is so very dear. One of our Lieutenant Colonels left the Regiment yesterday on Half pay - four Captains are also placed upon Half pay -

I am as comfortable here as I would wish to be - there is very little news. I will send you my Medal to get my name put upon it. Hoping Mary Jane and the children all well.
