Terracotta Warriors at Xi'An.  Three pits have been discovered since 1974.  The largest is shown above, housing the main army, the second below is still under excavation, housing archery and calvary, and a third to the right housed army headquarters.
The terracotta warriors were discovered when some local Chinese men began digging a well above the pits.  A lot of the figures were crushed over time as the wooden rafters decayed and collapsed.
We ate at the Muslim quarter of Xi'An for lunch.  It was great, I tried to order soup and ended up with a bowl of plain noodle-water.  Then I tried to re-order and got a plain bowl of hot water.  I guess the third try's a charm cuz my friend and I finally got some noodle soup to eat.  Then we just walked around and looked at all the street shops and sesame oil factories.  These two guys here were really friendly and let me take their picture.
I have no idea why there's a Sphinx in the middle of inner China.  But we're on the bus to see the terracotta warriors, and look!  There's a random pyramid!  Some things about China I think I'll never understand.
