Old Man Willow
At the Withywindle river in the Old Forest stood Old Man Willow, a Huorn, that is, a tree which has grown ent-like, or vice versa.

With the rustling of its leaves it could control other trees, and put unwary travellers to sleep. It made the hobbits drowsy, and Merry and Pippin, who had laid against his trunk, he trapped in a crack. Tom Bombadil, who came along just in time, commanded the willow to let them go, but he did not do anything to the tree besides this.
Old Man Willow still had the mission of Yavanna implanted in it, to guard the rooted beings from the rootless, and so he used his mighty songs and branches against those which drew near to his area.
