Physical description: Large lidless eye, glazed yellow like a cat's, engulfed in fire; the slit was described as a window into nothingness.
Biography: Sauron was the creator of the One Ring. During his stay at Dol-Guldur, He was known as the Necromancer. At the time of The Fellowship of the Ring, He was in a constant, sleepless search for the Ring, building his armies, and breeding fell races to do his bidding. His greatest servants were the 9, the Nazgul, servants of the Ring. It would be nearly impossible to list all of the evil plots of Sauron, the master of deceit and treachery, but his chief deeds are listed as follows: the creation of the Black Speech, the breeding of the Olog-Hai and possibly the Uruk-Hai, and the creation of the aforementioned Nazgul, men ensnared into service by the Nine Rings of Men. Even though he did not possess the Ring, its existence gave him enough strength to eventually overcome Middle Earth, and Gandalf and Elrond knew that the only decision was to destroy the Ring, a deed which Sauron had never thought of, and could not fathom.
