The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring I give it an: A
Why it didn't get an A+: As great and entertaining as it was, Peter Jackson disincluded some characters that I would have loved to see. I would have liked to see the obstacles the Hobbits faced on their way to Bree. In the movie, it seemed like Buckleberry Ferry was right next to Bree, but in reality it is 70 miles or so apart. Old Man Willow would have been a joy to see, because in the book that was a very interesting part. Another part I wanted to see was the Barrow-Wight of the Barrow-Downs. AND TOM BOMBADIL!!! (happy, Phil?) I didn't like that Arwen guided them to Rivendell. I would have much rather seen Glorfindel. Other than that, I loved the movie and thought it was very accurate. The attention to detail is amazing. It is all so believable and lifelike, the way Tolkien intended it to be. |
