Nicole's Story continued
I didn't like the new Kristy, so I did the thing elementary kids do and wrote her a note telling her that I didn't want to be her friend.  And for some reason, everyone else turned their back on her too! Except of course for, Alesha.
Later on my mom told me about Kristy's parents, and I immediately wrote her
another note telling her how sorry I was and that I hadn't known, and asked her if she would be my friend.  Like the great person Kristy is, she forgave me.

Lesson #1:  Don't turn your back on your friends.  They may not be as forgiving as Kristy was.
Kristy didn't go to camp, but Alesha did.  So, Alesha and I stuck together.
At camp, I learned a lot, but I didn't really make a lot of new friends.  Camp is indescribable.  I have
so many memories of it!  It was the greatest.
A couple weeks after camp ended, one of the counselers died in a motorcycle accident.  His name was Nick.  I had the
biggest crush on him.  Well, maybe not the biggest, but I still had a crush.  The first or second night I remember he was my POW (Person of Worth, not Prisoner of War, silly.)  At the end of the night, they told us to go hug our POW, but I was too shy to go hug him, and I wasn't 100% sure the guy I thought was him, was really him!  So I just didn't hug him.
That night I also broke a chair.  YES, IT WAS ME!  I CONFESS!  I BROKE BERNIE'S CHAIR!!  Ahh, I feel so much better now.
Anyway, I felt really bad for missing that opportunity, so. . .
Lesson #2:  Don't be afraid to take a chance!
I know of way too many people who have learned the hard way, and if you embarrass yourself, who cares?
