El Dia Nueva (A New Day)
Oh Lord, you gave your life so that we may live in a world free of sin forever and ever when at last we meet face to face at Heaven's Door.
Lord, the blood that dripped from your pierced palms sets like morning dew upon my soul, giving full bloom to the spirit inside of me.
As this spirit, emulating from droplets of your blood, rushes through my veins, I begin to grow in strength and stature and I feel that familiar warmth swelling inside of me like a twirling inferno.
But as the day goes by and my hopes and idealistic thoughts are trampled by the careless rowdiness of those around me, my tendons begin to weaken and my soul aches from lack of strength.
The troubles of the day have beaten me once again and I find myself helpless, vulnerable in the dark of night.
I gaze above me, searching for the sun that once gave bloom to me.
I long for it's presence.
My throat begins to harden from the absense of your blood, shed for my very own life.
I stumble as I choke on my own sin and I reach for a helping hand.
But there is no open palm to embrace mine.
I begin to lose hope and throw myself to the cold, unwelcoming grass.
A single tear falls from my cheek and splashes upon the ground, creating a small bubbling puddle.
As I await my untimely demise, my eye catches a sparkle of light in the ever growing puddle and I look to the dark blue sky.
The moon has come to save me from the darkness and I smile to see the collection of stars which have accumulated, friends of whose assistance I require.
My hand scoops a palm full of water from the puddle in the grass and I bring it to my mouth to sip upon the rain of heaven.  My soul is refreshed by my newfound energy source and I can feel the stress that has so tightly squeezed each muscle in me, begin to loosen its death grip.
This energy fills my chest with a new breath of life and I thank the Lord my God, for I am reassured of my survival through the night.
It's a promise from God that will not be broken.
His covenant with me has promised me eternal life with him where I will never be disturbed by the creatures that lurk in the twilight zone.
Oh yes, I glow with energy, for a new day of life is to come.
I know that Jesus is my life and he will never die.
