WRITING FOR A SPECIFIC AUDIENCE
A FEW NOTES

WRITERS often write quite differently depending on whom they are writing for, especially if they are trying to convince that person or group of people of something

For example, someone writing a commercial for a child's toy will use different language and techniques than someone advertising special cookware or computer software

In order to use the written word to successfully convince someone of something, you must write effectively and use
words, expressions, and information that would be meaningful and of interest to the person or people whom you hope to convince

A person who loves to suntan may be less interested in a holiday resort's fine cuisine than in its beaches and water activities. So, to reach this person, the hotel or travel agent would need to play up swimming facilities and so on

It is always important for writers to
know their audience so they can reach and interest them - and hopefully make them want to buy their book or product!
