My
ideas come from strong feelings about portraiture and the human figure, with
reference to the female form. I am also interested in mark-making, which holds
an element of spontaneity and exploration. I use random marks and simplistic
shapes as a means of expressing the female form in a light that is not necessarily
a conformed beauty but a true depiction of life around us.
