C'est moi.

  Name: Nicolas de Lenfent
Age / Gender: 246 / Male
Hair: Dark Brown with curls.
Eyes: Dark
Race: "Demon / Dark Angel"

Personality: As he said himself, Nicki's heart is filled with darkness. He firmly believes that this existence is meaningless, that there is no justice or order in this world, and instead of cowering before this belief, Nicki seems to find masochistic pleasure in having it confirmed throughout his life. Yet, despite this self-destructive cycle, there is a deep part of him that desperately hopes for someone to come and prove to him that he is wrong. Nicki does as the expression "cut off your nose to spite the face" goes, but his tragedy is that this entire bleak philosophy developed in the first place just so he may protect himself from being hurt by disappointments, injustice, and adversity.

History:Nicolas de Lenfent, Lestat's most loved mortal friend, was eccentric from the start. Instead of pursuing his father’s wish to seek out an extensive
education in pre-Revolutionary Paris, he falls desperately in love with
the thought of becoming an accomplished violinist. Going against
everyone’s doubt (he is, in fact, much too old for such thoughts to possess
his mind!), that is exactly what he sets his mind to, if anything, become.
Pure madness! Such thoughts are the work of the Devil! And Nicki knows this.

Even if Nicki is blessed with such wealth that dazzles Lestat, just as it
would any young gentlemen, Nicki is sometimes spellbound with his friend’s
obsession with peace and overall goodness to all. To him, Lestat possesses
qualities that no mortal human being should ever have. Their love for one
another is strong, but envy between the two is present from the very
beginning.

When both are still mortal, each dazzles the other with their tales! Lestat
will tell Nicki about killing the wolves, but not before he hears enough of
the excitement of being a wealthy young man in Paris! Thus begins the ever-
extensive ‘conversation’!

As the bond grows stronger, so does the dream of the pair going to Paris,
to live to the extremes! Finally, one night they make their escape. To live
the dream! Although unbeknownst to Lestat, Nicki’s ‘dream’ is more in the
form of a nightmare. He is drowning in the guilt of pursuing his pleasures.
All the while, Lestat continues to dazzle all that come in contact with him.
Even with the pair of them receiving praise and credit at the lowly Paris
theatre in which they are employed, Nicki feels shame for allowing himself
to enjoy the erratic music that he presents.

A deep depression devours Nicki when Lestat suddenly vanishes from his life.
Who does he think he is, he who was once a nightly companion, now sending
gifts of great worth as if to gloat of his sudden wealth. Does he think
he’s too good to continue his friendship with Nicolas? These things not
only arouse further suspicions from Nicki that Lestat is one of supernatural
power, his sudden confusion and loneliness drives him to the
allure of the bottle.

Finally, Lestat appears to Nicki again. Accompanied by a few disturbing
tricks. This is when Nicki truly starts to loathe his old friend. He is becoming more and more sure that Lestat is no longer of the same race as
he is, that being human!

His suspicions are proved correct when he finds himself being kidnapped
by a vampire coven, lead by the powerful Armand. He bitterly endures the
torture heaved upon him, including being drained almost to the point of
death by these vile creatures! Luckily, he is rescued by his old friend
Lestat, and taken to recover in the tower. Not being able to trust any
mortal with his new wealth, Lestat locks Nicki in a secluded room during
the day. Enraged, Nicki will pound on the doors for hours, growing all
the more disordered as the day goes on. When Lestat finally comes to him,
disaster is born!

Nicki’s sound mind has already been disturbed by the vampires in the coven,
so one would expect him to fall slave of his new powers as they are given to him. For a time after his birth into Darkness, he remains completely detached from the World around him. It is not until Lestat presents him with his violin that he allows himself to drift back into reality. After so much time of silence, Nicki tells the story of his suffering in theform of immensely erratic violin notes, improvised on the spot, but coming straight from his tortured soul. I wanted to go down! he exclaims to Lestat, wildly babbling about his ever-present guilt and pursuit for destruction. He lets it beknown that he now despised his friend Lestat. With Nicki's behavior growing more eccentric with each passing day, Lestat leaves Paris. It is evident to all that the Dark Gifts have bedazzled Nicki, maddened him beyond control, and those left to look after him are swiftly growing tired of his actions. If not for his talent of producing magnificent scripts for the theatre (even if he often has to be tied down for his work to commence), he would have been banished already. The End is near to come! Before long, Armand is completely furious with Nicki's mad rampages in the streets, and proceeds to punish him by cutting off his hands, and returning him to the dreaded prison of the old coven. Completely humiliated by these actions, Nicki drops into a bout of silence. Perhaps it is as Lestat remembers. Nickis father threatening to crush his hands at the foolishness of his new musical obsession. The irony may be too much for the Touched One to endure. After writing a few last scripts, he requests an elegant affair of his entrance into the fire. Armand grants this wish, and so ends the legacy of Nicki with this emotional departure. Nicki's beloved violin is sent to Lestat. Even it does not last long, for it is crushed during Lestats attempt to awaken Those Who Must Be Kept.
