Paul Is Dead?
I think not :o)

The following information is only here because it was part of the history of The Beatles. I do not believe that Paul is dead.

The whole hoax was allegedly started by the DJ, Russ Gibb, of WKNR-FM Detroit, who on October 12, 1969, received a phone call with the rumor that Paul McCartney was dead, and that the album covers and song lyrics backed this up. Below are only a few of the clues discovered to "prove" that Paul was dead.

On the Help! album:
*Inside the fold-out cover, Paul is shown as the only one not wearing a hat

On the Rubber Soul album: * "I'm looking through you, you're not the same." (from "I'm Looking Through You")
*"with lovers and friends I still can recall,/some are dead..." (from "In My Life")

Yesterday & Today: *The cover, with its theme of death, was censored, then "covered up." On the new cover, Paul is sitting in a coffin-like trunk
*"I'm not half the man I used to be" (from "Yesterday")

Revolver: *Paul is the only one drawn in profile, showing just one eye
*"I was alone, I took a ride,/ I didn't know what I would find there" (from "Got To Get You Into My Life")

Sgt. Pepper: *On the cover, Paul is standing under an upraised hand, a sign of benediction
*He holds an oboe, the only one of the instruments shown not found in a marching band
*The Beatles are standing in front of an open grave
*If Paul bent down to pick up the guitar made out of flowers, it would be a left-handed (but only three-stringed) bass
*It appears that the small doll in the green dress is looking at a toy car plummeting in flames over a cliff
*Inside the sleeve, Paul is seated in the position associated with the burial of the dead in India
*He wears a patch with the letters "O.P.D." which could stand for "officially pronounced dead"
*On the back, Paul has his back turned to us
*On the back, George's hands form an "L," John's a "V" and Ringo's an "E." Paul's contribution is missing, but an "O" can be seen as one of the buttons on his sash
*Also on the back, George could be pointing to lyrics with his thumb, revealing the time of Paul's death
*"He blew his mind out in a car" (from "A Day In The Life")

Magical Mystery Tour: *On the cover George the Rabbit's hand is raised (almost) above Paul the Hippopotamus's head
*In the picture book, on page 3, Paul is seated at a desk behind a sign reading, "I Was,"
*Paul is barefoot on pages 10 and 13, page 13 shows his shoes next to Ringo's drums, on which is writeen a small 3 - three Beatles?
*On page 18 Paul again stands under an upraised hand
*On page 23 he wears a black carnation; the others wear red
*And again, on page 24, an upraised hand above his head
*"The Magical Mystery Tour is dying to take you away" (from "Magical Mystery Tour")
*"Nothing is real" (from "Strawberry Fields")
*When playing Strawberry Fields backwards, John is heard to say "I buried Paul."

The White Album: *Ringo sings about someone who was in a car crash and who lost his hair ("Don't Pass Me By")
*"Everybody's got something to hide..."
*"Here's another clue for you all/The Walrus was Paul." (Glass Onion") The walrus is supposedly a death symbol in Scandinavia
*"Revolution # 9" has many buried references to death and dying, and "Number nine...number nine..." played backwards supposedly sounds like "Turn me on dead man...."
*At the end of "I'm So Tired", Lennon mutters something that, when played backwards says "Paul is dead, miss him, miss him".
*The poster included with the album has many clues. In the bottom-right corner is a photo of Billy Campbell, the winner of The Scottish Paul McCartney Look-Alike Contest. Campbell disappeared in '66, never to be seen again. Campbell had a scar on his lip, as did Paul after the end of '66.
*Also on the poster is a photo of Paul's head lying back in a bathtub that may be a reconstruction of what he looked like after the car crash
*On page 7 of the booklet, a pair of "ghostly hands" is reaching out for Paul

Abbey Road: *On the cover Paul is again barefoot and walks out of step with the others
*He carries his cigarette in his right hand
*John is dressed as an angel in white, Ringo as a minister, Paul the way a corpse would be in Italy, George as a gravedigger
*The license plate on the VW Bug read " LMW 28 IF" meaning Linda McCartney Widowed (or Weeping), and Paul would be 28 if he were alive
*On the back of the jacket there is a crack running through the word "Beatles", symbolizing a "flaw in the structure"
*There is a chip in the "O" in "Road". Paul is the only Beatle without an "O" in his name, he also fails to provide the missing "O" in LOVE on the back of Sgt. Pepper.
*"One and one and one is three" (from "Come Together")
*"You can feel his disease" ("Come Together")
*Got to be goodlooking 'cause he's so hard to see" ("Come Together")

Let It Be: *The album is framed in black, Paul's picture is the only one framed in white

Anyhoo, now you're a little more educated in a part of Beatles history :o)
