(Chapter 1-2)

When I first started to read the chapter I was very confused. The author was describing things very well but

without knowing what happened before the boys reached the island it was very hard to piece together what

was going on. But once I read into the chapter more I fully understood what was going on.

I really like how the author is so descriptive in every detail. It makes you feel like you are really there

watching a group of boys survive on an island. Reading something that is so descriptive also lets the reader

understand the conditions the characters are in.

I think the author has a good understanding of how teenager boys act and single each other out when

there are no adults around. The author being a man himself must have some experience of how he personally

acted when he was alone without any adults.

I also liked all the emotions in this section. There is fear and shame. These emotions are very often felt

through out the chapter and in real life but in real life they are very rarely felt to the extent felt in this section.

I don't like Ralph because he is always rude. He constantly makes fun of Piggy, calling him names and

laughing at his asthma. I really think that he should stop because Piggy already has low confidence. Also

Ralph has taken the role of the leader so if he makes fun of Piggy the rest of the boys will.

I think this book will be a good one because it is very realistic and I can relate to some of the situations in it.

(Chapter 3-4)

In this section it is less confusing to understand what is going on because I know what has happened

previously. The author continues to describe everything with lots of detail, making everything easy to imagine.

The character I most admire is Piggy because he never really cares what people say about him. Someone

can say the meanest thing to him and he just takes it in and doesn't even say anything back. In a way that is a

good and a bad thing. It is good because it means that he is a very strong person and knows he is good. But it

is a bad thing because he should really stand up for himself and not let his self confidence get so low.

I think Ralph is starting to notice how nice of a person Piggy is and wants to be his friend. Ralph finally

relizes that looks aren't everything and just because someone is ugly doesn't mean they have a bad heart.

I'm begininning to not like Jack because he thinks he is better then everyone else and if your not a leader

your a nobody. This is avery negative attitude and I think he will begin to loose friends because of it. I think that

in the end he is going to be a nobody because the boys won't want a friend who thinks that they are better then

everyone else.

I can't wait to find out which emotions are going to break out next.

(Chapter 5-6)

I think that the climax is beginning in this section because all the boys are starting to get out of control. The

book is starting to get more and more intense with everything that is happening on the island. Ralph's power is

slowly decreasing with everyday and the boys are getting more chaotic everyday.

v Jack is getting very powerful over the boys. I think that if the boys continue on with doing whatever Jack

does they won't survive very long. Jack has basically become the chief and with that the boys are very chaotic

and won't tend to their needs.

I think the Ralph character has changed the most. He used to be very controlling and bossy but now he has

completely lost those qualities. He is becoming more and more like Piggy; nice and sensitive. Ralph needs to

regain those qualities and take control if he wants to survive.

In my opinion I think that when the boys especially the hunters find out about Simon being killed a lot of

emotions will breakout. Maybe the death of Simon will make the boys realize how crazy they are going and they

will smarten-up. Hopefully not too many emotions break out or it will be even harder for Ralph to regain control.

I really think this book has gotten a lot better as I read on and I am always wanting to read more to find out

what will happen more.

(Chapter 7-8)

I'm really getting into the book more because the story is getting more and more intense as the book

progresses. There is definitely two well-defined groups both competing to survive and showing off what food

they catch. The book has been very exciting and mysterious so far, with lots of obstacles in the way.

This section reminds me of the movie 'Cast Away' a lot because all of the situations that occur. Like in 'Cast

Away' the characters begin to go a little crazy in there own head and become very competitive of themselves.

Some of the characters also begin to realize the extent of their danger and begin to think about being rescued.

I like the authors style of writing. He makes things that sound crazy sound so realistic. He also describes

what is going on in the characters mind just how I would imagine they would go on. When you think about it you

would have to be really talented to be able to write like he can.

I don't really know if whenever Simon goes off on his own if he is just dreaming or everything he

experiences is really happening. Every time he does go off whatever happens to him sounds like a fantasy.

There are always weird creatures and voices.

I can't wait to read on and find out how things end up in the end!

 (Chapter 9-10)

I think that this section is very exciting and filled with energy. There is constantly something going on

between the tribes. The story defiantly has researched to top of the climate and become very strongly

developed.

I particularly like this section because there is so much action and emotion involved. This section keeps you

wanting to read more and ends off so that you want to finish the book to figure out how everything ends up. All

the characters have completely different feelings towards everything. Some characters are ashamed or

Simon's death, some feel guilty, while others just say it was an accident.

The characters are definitely going crazy. They react so strongly to such little things. For example, Simon

was just walking up to them calmly and they all assume he is a vicious beast and begin beating him and tearing

him apart. I don't think they will be able to keep themselves together very much longer.

I think that Simon's death had a very big impact on both tribes. The most of the boys feel guilty and

ashamed but some of the boys say it was an accident. I think deep down all the boys feel horrible whether they

are willing to admit it or not. I just don't see how someone who obviously killed someone could say that they

didn't even feel a bit bad. Some of the boys probably think that they will ruin their reputation if they admit to

feeling bad.

I really want to see how things end up in the last section. I have no doubt that it won't be as good as the rest.

(Chapter 11-12)

The last section had very similar events as the previous are. I think this section had a little more excitement

and fewer emotions. The characters finally reacted their last obstacles but it wasn't as clear that they had gotten

over it.

I don't think that Piggy should've died I think Roger or someone from Jack tribe should've died because

Jack tribe would've been able to realize how crazy they were acting. If someone from Jack's tribe did die. I don't

think that the book would've given off the same effect. So I guess the author was right to make Piggy die.

I personally thought that there was too much death and hate red in this section. Piggy dies and Ralph

almost dies, The only people Ralph has left leave and there is continuous fighting between Ralph and Jack, If I

was the author I think I would've made Eric and Sam stay with Ralph because then their wouldn't be so much

hate red.

I think the end could've been clearer because it doesn't really have a strong point. It could've told you how

the experience changed the boys and how different it is for them to be back home in a normal society. I also

think that the author should've had a scene at the end where the boys are on a boat going home.

Over all I think it was a very good book and would recommended it to my friends and family.
