Here's a good good papio that I caught while whipping a yellow feather jig at the 3rd beach of Secrets Beach on Kauai's North Shore.  There was another bigger omilu with it and on my next cast, I hooked a half pound papio and the other big papio began attacking it but couldn't fit it in it's mouth.
On the first night I caught a good size ulua and a nice sized o'io.  The Ulua took a big moi that I was using for bait.  I caught quite a bit of moi each night but it was out
of season so I kept one for bait whenever I needed
and let the rest go.  I packed the ulua and o'io out
Saturday morning and put them on ice at home.
Then I hiked back in to Hanakapiai (a 2 mile hike
each way).  I didn't catch anything good on the
second night but before I began to hike out, my
small rod went off and I caught a big o'io.  I forget
what it weighed.  It was either 5 or 6 pounds at
placed second in the O'io category.  The Ulua
weighed 28 pounds and never placed, not even 10th.
Here's my pictures from the K-mart Fishing Tournament in 2003
I spent the entire contest at Hanakapiai beach.
