| Bruce was my partner Darrens dog and although I did not know him for very long I decided that he too should have a page on the site as he was a faithful furry friend. Bruce known as "Brucey" was 3.5 years old when Darren adopted him from a dog rescue center where he had been there for about 5 months. When Darren first fell in love with Brucey he was informed of his apparent hate for women! well this certainly never came to be true! Brucey was a very friendly dog to all! |

| When Darren heard Bruceys story he decided that he deserved a second chance. He heard how Brucey had been beaten so badly that he now suffered from arthritis in his legs and had visable marks on his legs from his injuries. Sadly he also had some deep rooted mental problems that although 99% of the time didnt show they on occasion got the better of him. Brucey proved to be a faithful friend to Darren, he loved his comforts and took up half of the bed!!! but with his sad eyes Darren just could not say no!! Being half German Shepherd and half Pyrenees Mountain Dog he was a big scarey looking Woofer!! but was more liable to lick you to death than actually hurt you! |
| Brucey could skin a fluffy toy in seconds flat! stuffing everywhere they had no chance!! large chews he tore thru like candy floss!! and was even know to bite a concrete bird bath in half!! but he was so gentle he would take a treat from your mouth hardly touching you, a real big softy at heart!! |
| Sadly in Feb 2007 , at age 5 , Brucey's demons got the better of him and he attacked another dog quite badly, the Brucey we knew and loved just flipped out and done something so out of character that nobody could have imagined. Heartbreaking as it was Darren knew he had only one choice and had to let Brucey go to Rainbow Bridge. Many tears were shed for Brucey and always will be when he is remembered, A special friend who will never be forgotten... |
