Any population exists between two threads of state; the thread of morality, and the thread of survival. These two threads evolve over time from a primitive condition into a more mature position, but their essential nature remains firm. When either thread is disrupted, the other thread compensates by adding sufficient conflict to the situation. When the disruption ends, the thread state is updated and given new purpose. The thread state can never have the same purpose as it had in a previous incarnation. Example: The rapid technological innovation that took place in the 1990s and into the new millennium allowed for the disruption that would cause the conflict in the Middle East. When this conflict finally ends, we can predict only that the world's people will not follow the same course of purpose that we were following previous to the Middle Eastern conflict.
