I like reading books and watching movies. It inspires me think about many
questions and learn
different ideas such as love, meaning of life, human
relationship.
Reading books can enhanced my understanding as well as to
improve my reading and writing competency.
Watching movies can give me
sensual enjoyment with the visual and audio effect, and with the performance of
the artists.
Here I share my views on some movies and books that I have
read.
1. Bruce Almighty
He can change the nature, tear down the moon, make day night and make night
day. We always use our own standard to see God's will. If we can't get what we ask
for, He gives free will and respects our choices. He does not intervene with what
Bruce use his power He never sleep and rest. We want everything and are never satisfied. Like Bruce, he always wants
promotion and is not satisfied with his position. He only focuses on his own
interests and is not happy with his life, To conclude, human can never be God. But we can be of God and work with his
strength and walk in his sights.
He watches over us and even know every piece of our life and he knows
our mind.
Just like in the movie, God keeps record of all words said by
Bruce. He also knows what Bruce was going through in his daily life.
we will conclude God is not good or he is absent from us. We will
complain to him.
But if we look at the big picture, we can see that God make
all decision with justice and according to his ways.
God can do everything,
but he never abuse his power to harm the other or hurt his people.
He makes
us suffer because he wants to test our faith, to get closer with him, to lean on
him.
for and how does he use his power, even he knows
Bruce
will use it for his own purpose or to achieve his success.
He work every day and night and never take day
off or vacation.
He listen carefully to our prayers, make decision
carefully. Not like Bruce, just simply click "yes" to
all prayers requests
that caused social disorders, competition, disasters and so on.
until when he is using his almighty
to help those in need, and he is pleased with his life only.
We can do all things through Christ who
strengthen us and make the world a better place by following his
ways.
2. Life is Beautiful (Italian movie)
Have you ever seen someone's life beautiful? Is beautiful life only a
priviledge of the rich, the authority, great thinkers, famous singers
, or
scientiests?
In my eyes, people live out beautiful life Mother Teresa, Dr. Joanna Tse (a
HK doctor who lost her life when saving SARS patients in 2003), a mother who
work as cleanser so as to raise her children.
They are all the people who
make difference to their family, to the community, or to the world.
Life is beautiful when we make a difference, no matter how wise or foolish you are, how rich or poor you are.
Ordinary people could also live a beautiful life.
We can live a beautiful life even in despair. Just as Guido (the leading
role), he and his son was sent to the Nazi central camp. It seemed impossible
for them to escape from the fate of being killed one day. Working like as slave,
suffering from fear, Guido still tried to bring joy to his son and to protect
him. Finally, he sacrificed himself to save his son.
What are the driving force behind Guido? and where did his strength come
from?
Guido loves his son and his wife. Love will bring you hope and the will
to survive.
Whene you are in darkness, and when you lose hope, think about
those love you and those you love
They need you and need your love.
Then
what you are suffering are nothing comparing with your love for them.
If you
feel you are unloved or unwanted, remember God's love for you. He already has
sent his only son
to die for you on the cross, to save you. He will never let
you down and fall. He will never leave you.
Remember you are so precious in
his eyes.
Without love, life is not life at all. We are just existing like animals,
like computers, like the trees.
Life is to love and love is to give.
