My Testimony
When was I saved? Summer 1999 What do Jesus mean to me? Jesus is my Savior. There is no substitute. Only Jesus is willing and can
die for me, ever since I was born. When I found I have been tied by my past, my
wrongdoing and no one will forgive me, Jesus was there and put his hands on me
and forgive me. I find I am no longer be slave of sin but is set free because of
the price Jesus had paid for me. I put God in the first place in my life. Without Christ, I
would have never lived. God
loves me. He is my strength, for "my strength is made perfect in
weakness'. I experience the Almighty character of God when I got my sickness. He
just has the healing hand. God not only healed my body but my soul and my
spirit. Walking with God is just a life journey having a
reliable friends. He will
always be with me. He always keep his eyes on me. God is the provider of my
everything. "We love because God first loved
us". I have the kindness and compassion to love and help the others because
God has sow the seeds of love on me. So that there is fruit of tenderness,
patience and understanding. God is my Comforter and Counselor. When I was going through tough time and
facing the difficulties alone, when I could find nobody to talk to me, there I
hear his voice through the rain and the storm. Then I am stilled, He told me
"be strong and be courageous, don't be afraid.......I am the Lord who heals
you." Changes 1 Personality I used to be rationalized, self-centered, materialistic, easy to anger,
pessimistic, grumbling, complaining, argumentative, stubborn. Now I am in the processing of
transformation, to be sowed with the seeds of love, so as to grow up, and then
to harvest the fruits of spirit: kindness, love, joy, peace, patience,
gentleness, faithfulness, self-control. 2. Life Purpose I know for whatever I do is in
the name of Jesus Christ. My purpose is to glorify the Lord and to bring
honor to him but not for my own ambition or self interest. When I help people, I
know I am not trying to gain something but just because of who I am -- a
God's servant. When I show respect to the others, it is not because someone
is respectable but because I am commanded to respect whoever created in the
image of God. Experience my life in Him.
Being a Christian not necessary means I am free from fear or dangers. It never
promises my life will be free from test or devastation. It never promises that I
will be turned to a millionaire. But one thing I am sure is that I will live in
peace. Jesus never leave me. I am not walking alone. God promises he will always
protect me and strengthen me when I am weak. I will seize opportunity to
spread the good news to whoever I meet, in my family, in my work, in my
ministry, in my peer community. I want them know Jesus. God's salvation is not
just for someone but is for all people. My life formula: Just as my pastor at the chapel
said: "If you want more X, scatter more X" If I want more joy, scatter more
joy; if I want more love, scatter more love, and so on. "It is better to
take than to give", when I am able
to give, then give. Facing difficulties: "Hope
for the best, prepare for the worst, leave it to the lord" 4. Miracles from God Every day is a gift from God, but there are still some remarkable miracles. Host family: Finding nobody is
willing to rent me a room when I had to stay for two more months in Atlanta,
when I was desperate and was ready to confirm my ticket to get back early to HK.
I received a good news: I have a host family. Save from illness: My hyperthyroidism
is healed and I am recovering better than I expected. I did take 2 times
radiotherapy and was under medical treatment for more than 5 years but none
could successfully control my health condition. 5. God's grace on me People always think that
Christians never talk practical. Well, here are all the practical gifts from God
that prove He is merciful and gracious. Getting my current job, I have
been waiting for 4 months. I don't need to work on Sunday so that I can go to
church. This job is more stable, offers higher salary and less stressful.
Colleagues are friendly and nice. Going to Japan for free. I was
selected by the HK government as Youth Delegate to exchange for 8 days. The
whole trip is free. I am one of the 38 lucky delegates. Receiving warm hospitality from
the Mau's family in Melbourne. Knowing someone whom I would
never expected, what a surprise. Bryan and Moe from the States; Stephen
and Andrew in Melbourne; Chris Fisher who have been exchanging at HKBU but
I never knew until I join KIBC. When I have enough money: I
don't need to worry too much about tomorrow. when my family is here with me When I have friends stand by me
and support me throughout the years. when my friends give me their
shoulders when I want to cry: as compared with some people can find people to drink or eat with
them but find nobody willing to give hands when they asks for help. when I am able to do in clear
conscience: as compared with people with mental disorder would never know what they are doing when I am able to smile: someone
with mental illness will never be able to rejoice as they lost control on their
temper, as they are self-pity and self-centered. when I am safe from attacks and
diseases. when I can drink fresh water and
eat food that I like. Real friendship: Carol and Neale who have been
thinking of me and praying for me every day, even I am now in the other part of
the world. They have demonstrated good example of being faithful
Christian. We don't need to go out every day, we don't need long distance
call, but we just love each other. They inspire and teach me a lot of life
lessons. Michelle and Macy: I can always
confide in you and share my heart freely. Nina and Jenny, who never hestitate to listen to me when I was frustrated. I always find them as good examples of peaceful mind Annie, Yvonne, Crystal and Christine, we support each other and grow up our faith.
