How To Care For Your Recorder

1. Label your recorder and case with a permanent marker.

2. Clean the mouthpiece of your recorder with an old toothbrush or pipe cleaner.  You can also hold plastic mouthpieces upside down under warm running water.  It is important to keep your mouthpiece clean for proper playing and for your health.

3. Plastic recorders can be washed in the dishwasher or in a sink with warm soapy water.  Take the pieces apart before washing and be sure to rinse all the soap off.

4. Let your recorder dry completely before playing it again.

5. Keep your recorder in its case when you are not playing it.

6. If you are playing a wooden recorder, ask Mr. Wild for instructions on how to care for it.  Do NOT use water.
