| What is a 'Zombie?' The colloquial terminology for the enemy we face is a 'zombie.' It is this new diseased species that are killing your families, friends, neighbours and allies. It is for this reason that we cannot let them survive, they must be wiped off the face of the planet. It is this army of the walking dead that we are striving to kill, with all our effort we are also trying to understand what they are, and thanks to the hard work of our S.R.T. we now have answers as to what these creatures are. A zombie still has the shape and form of any other human, but they are not alive. They are dead, but walking. This has been one of the main confusing factors that surrounds the love-hate relationship many have. It is because they walk and act almost like humans that some are unable to dispose of their deceased loved ones whose only will now is to kill. It is because of this weak-willed nature of some that has allowed this situation to go on far too long, and it is this reason that it must be stopped now and forever. A zombie does not breathe, it only seems to breathe through natural body movement. As the zombie moves, it's muscles move and therefore move the lungs, causing them to participate in a sick form of malformed air intake. Air is merely sucked in and pushed out, but never used. Through this unnatural act the deceased individual is able to produce a wheezing, groaning sound which identifies them distinctly from the normal human being. Also due to this lack of oxygen, the body is blue and the flesh is dead and is merely hanging on. These creatures are not like the normal human being. They crave warm flesh and will attack without thought or emotion to fulfill their hunger for flesh. It has been documented that in some extreme cases, these diseased monsters have been found feasting on animals that were once alive. So it appears as if the warm flesh of animals makes do when warm human flesh is not in abundance or accessible. There is no clear reason why these monsters crave our flesh, but it is a fact, a gruesome fact of a gruesome species that stops at nothing to seek and destroy for food. Their motor skills are mostly slow and somewhat hap-hazard, but there are documented cases of fresh corpses to be faster and more agile as rigamortis has either not set in or has recently dissipated from the body. Their hearing, after intense study is muffled and in some cases of older individuals, non-existant and due to a lack of mental skills, the sounds they encounter are usually not interpreted as anything, just a signal that food may be near. These creature's sight seems to be almost normal, although some cases have shown that sight has vanished if when attacked, the individual's eye lids were removed. If moisture is not provided for the eyes, they will dry up and will no longer function as they once did. As with all dead subjects, they rot, but in their partially living, dead state, they are able somehow to slow down decomposition, but exposure to the elements can speed up the process. However, it has been discovered that decomposition varies with each specimen. Despite this however, it has been calculated that these creatures will not survive for longer than 3 years. If all motor skills are removed, as well as internal organs, these creatures will continue to function. The key to a zombie's life is their brain. If you destroy the brain you destroy the ghoul. They cannot function without it. Therefore, the brain must be destroyed through gun shot or a heavy blow to their cranium. This method is preferred as the beast will never live again, however, decapitation has also served as a means of killing the ghoul, although in some bizarre cases, it has been discovered that they can continue to function, although they are almost harmless in this state, they can still spread disease, so 100% caution is advised around any living or deceased zombie as disease is rife amongst their kind. These creatures are not your family members or you friends. They have little memory left and therefore in 99.9% of all studied cases, cannot recognise you, and even if they can, they will still attack without remorse. These creatures are no longer human, they are another species, they are our enemy and they must be destroyed. If you encounter one of these monsters, you must end its existence as quick as possible and secure the body in case of revival if the brain was merely knocked out of sorts and not destroyed in a heavy object is used and not a gun. The preferred method of destroying a ghoul is via a gunshot to the head as this without fail kills them. A gunshot to anywhere other than the brain will not kill them, it will not even slow them down, so extra care must be taken to make each shot a head shot. It will save your life and end the enemy's. In case of emergeancy, you are also taught how to cope with a wound inflicted by one of the undead. YOU are needed to end the existance of this new species, it is YOUR duty to save mankind. |
