27th October 2002 Black Room I watched you burn Crumble to a crisp And clutch your hands Up tight to your eyes Before you dropped to the floor Smouldering on blackened wood In darkened room Releasing last tainted breath Convulsing one last shadowed, twitching muscle Then I was alone Satisfied by the silence A whirlwind surrounding me Like a river of cold, cold blood Filling up the floor space Seeping through the splintered floorboards That rots, twists and snaps at my heels And then suddenly I am swallowed All because I never regretted the end Spread Of Disdain They entered my mind So black and hollow they quivered And when I threw them out They cam back with a vengeance Sucking out my eyes Tearing off my skin Rubbing vinegar and salt Into the raw, exposed flesh of mine But I tossed that back Spat it into their faces Relished the blood on my tongue After they razored it into gaping Again they returned and fought with me Blow after blow, burn, tear and strike Thundered into oblivion And there we all lay breeding our disdain Phantasmagoria Dark and graven faces Lunging from black and deathly hoods Clenched fists ready and willing To pound, pulp and pull A weak and wailing man Is held down by arms and legs Dragged into filth-ridden alleyway To await his judgement As he waits with baited, bloodied breath The hum of the crowd enrages him But restrained and weak he is subdued And then from the darkness he comes Falling like devil under angels torn face The master, the leader, the all and everything Emerging from his flowing cape That slithers as if it were alive and dying The leader clasps his cold, dripping hands About the mans shoulders pulls him in close Envelops him whole within his arms And squeezes him tight as if to comfort Do you realise said the overpowering leader This is the end of your road And with the dullest tone he concluded Dont you wish youd had a second chance? |
