| First there was night, then came dawn, and now the darkest day the world has ever known.... day of the dead. Only george romero can instill fear in a title like that. Day of the Dead is the most underrated of the three because of its lax storyline. But i enjoyed the funny repatoir, the grizzly fx by tom savini, and the outstanding preformances from the cast- espescially joe pilato. Even though the script was changed because of many budget cuts...i think day came out superb. it didnt get alot of box office hits because of return of the living dead coming out at the same time, but day will be a classic tale forever. Our new heroes are trapped in a army bunker fighting for there lives from the zombies above (and below), and even with there fellow survivors. Day is yet another scare fest that Geroge Romero thought up and let me tell you....it accomplished it feat. I think the best part of the film would have to be the FX though by Savini. They were extremely grizzly and way more advanced than seen in any of the earlier films. The hysterical lines from the cast in the film were also an amazing addition to the film. Day leaves you laughing, scared , and crying. From the funniest scenes to poor Bub finding Doc Logan gunned down we are on not just a fearful rollercoaster ride but an emotional ride. Day trully is a standout film. Kermit. |
