Chapter 26

"You look gorgeous," Nick said as Gwen opened the door of their suite in LA, revealing a long red dress with a plunging neckline and a slit up the front.  He long blonde hair was board straight with a part down the middle that went with the lines of her dress and framed her golden face, accenting her blue eyes.

"You should see yourself, we haven't seen eachother for over a week - I don't know if I am going to be able to keep my hands off of you with you looking as handsome as you do," Gwen stated frankly as she looked at him standing there in a tailored black suit with a longer coat and crisp white button up underneath.  His hair was spiked up on the top.

"We should go," Nick said as he began to escort her to the elevator and out the door of the hotel.  They got into the limo with the others to head for the Grammy Awards.

They stepped out of the limo to a blinding array of flashing lights.  Gwen looked around her and immediately felt naked.  Reporters began to surround Nick and Gwen, leaving the other guys and their dates blocked out behind them.  They all began firing questions at the couple, so many that they could not understand all of them.  They both stood there motionless.  Security finally came, pulling them out of the center of the reporter and helped them to make their way up the red carpet.  As they approached the door, things had calmed down somewhat and Gwen began to relax.  Nick squeezed her hand and lifted it to his mouth to kiss it softly as he stared into her eyes.  He began to speak as a reporter came up, "Can I ask you two a few questions?"

Gwen smiled and nodded at Nick, "Sure, shoot."

"How do you feel tonight, do you think you have a good chance of taking something home?" the reporter asked.

"I always like to come in with a positive attitude but try not to expect anything," Nick said.

"And who is this lovely lady you are with this evening?"

"This is Gwen Latham," Nick paused before he continued, "she is my girlfriend."

"How long have you two been seeing eachother Gwen?"

"A few months," Gwen replied politely as she gazed at Nick adoringly.

"What was your reaction when you saw the photos in the Globe?"

Nick looked at Gwen as she returned his confused glance, Gwen finally spoke up and asked, "What photos in the Globe?"

"The ones of you and Nick on the beach..."

"I -" Nick cut Gwen off.

"NO COMMENT!!!  Lets go..." he said as he dragged Gwen away and pulled her inside, reaching into his pocked for the cell phone at the same time.

"Denise, what photos were in the Globe?  A reporter just asked Gwen and I about it and -"

Nick shook his head and looked at Gwen with tears of anger in his eyes as he listened to Denise.  She knew in her heart what the pictures were, although she didn't want to believe it.
