Play My Song - Chapter 13

"I have to hang up now Rylie, I'll call ya later tonight...Yeah I know you're sorry that you couldn't come...Family is more important than LA, trust me...Just give your mom my best wishes and tell her to get well. I'll call when I get the chance. Love ya...Bye." Sadie clicked the off button on her cellphone and tucked it away into her purse. She situated herself in the uncomfortable airplane seat and looked out the window as her plane landed at Los Angeles International. Palm trees, clear skies, sun...everything she was hoping it would be.
Once the plane landed, Sadie went down to grab her luggage and noticed a limosine driver holding up a sign that said her name. Wheeling her suitcase behind her, she approached the driver, not remembering ordering a limo.
"Are you Sadie Kleminson?" The driver asked through his dark sunglasses.
"Um, well yes", she stuttered, "I just didn't know of any limo coming to get me."
"Oh. Well hop on in and I'll take you to your hotel. And please, allow me." He took the suitcase from her hand and put it in the trunk. He then opened the door for her and she got in. It was her first time in a limosine and she was already taken aback.
A girl could get used to this, she thought.
The driver sat down and rolled down the glass divider, then asked, "Do we have everything?"
"Yes we do."
"Good." He began to roll the glass up again but Sadie stopped him.
"Hey wait. Who is paying for this limo?"
The driver shuffled around in his pocket, then pulled out a card and read the name off of it, "A Mister Nick Carter, ma'am. This will be your private limosine for the week to take you everywhere that you need to go."
"Ni-Nick Carter? Like, the Backstreet Boy?" Sadie couldn't believe what she was hearing.
The driver stared at the card, "I'm not sure. It doesn't say 'Backstreet Boy' on the card."
Sadie smiled to him then said, "Thank you."
The limosine began to drive away and take Sadie to her hotel. Once there, Sadie was informed that she'd been upgraded to a suite, "courtesy of a Mister Nick Carter". The driver helped bring her bags up to her room, then left her alone.
Sadie sat down on the fluffy queen-sized bed and pulled out her cell phone. She was just about to dial Rylie's phone number when someone knocked on her door. Sadie got up and went towards the door, opening it to find the one person she hoped it wouldn't be.
