Early turn at Ledburn, 300609

Once you made the effort of getting up, early morning Ledburn is a pleasure. There is virtually no road traffic noise, no pendos (before 6) and there is much wildlife to watch or here. There is also freight and sleeper traffic, some of which are featured here and the likes of 6X66 and 1M11 can only be photted locally around now because of their 5 am passing times.

As the mist still hovers, 92019 heads South with the rarely photted 6X66 Moss End-Wembley.

1M11 when routed via the Trent can run very early, 90036 takes the Glasgow/Edinburgh up sleeper South around 0540.

New rancid LM liveried 321411 and standard 321436 passes "Charlie’s bothy" with the 0520 Northampton-Euston. Said "bothy" built for staff accomodation when the real Ledburn Jn was installed in the early 70’s sees little use today.

It seems a Skoda sleeper sunset may be with us in the not too distant future, in harsher light 90020 takes an ontime M16 sleeper south with its lengthy consist composed of Fort William/Aberdeen and Inverness portions.
