Chinnor diesel gala, 27 and 280609

Perfect weather, immense heat, bursts of thrash, a few failures, an RM shuttle, and even a tree branch on the tracks made our local gala as enjoyable as ever. The only real disappointment was 37219’s failure due battery problems.

Chinnor Station 2706 am

Once the pride of the Bletchley-Bedford (that’s when a regular hourly branch service actually ran…) M55023 after working an additional from nr Bledlow Bridge to pick up the tree branch clearance staff. Kensington Olympia is on the blind, on occasions BY’s bubbles did stray onto the Willesden-Clapham shuttles

37116 looks good after working a slightly delayed 1040 ex Thame Jn

31163 arrives with the 1145 to Thame Jn

Horsenden LC, 2706 pm

All eyes on the tractor as she gets a green flag with the 1335 ex Thame Jn

Chinnor yard, 2806 am – thanks to "Red Cow"

Taken with permission, Clayton 8568 is parked up in a siding as restoration continues. This former Polmadie machie also has strong local links having worked the Harpenden-Hemel "Hemlite" industrial branch in the mid 70’s

A mixed gala on August 1st should see all available power out (including k’s)…
