Our trainer is a Certified Canine Trainer, an Agility instructor, and a Canine Behavioral Counselor. A Registered Member of Pet Dog Trainers.
We offer on-line help for the individual or group classes in obedience, along with in-home private sessions. Often dogs are in need of private sessions for behavioral problems.
Obedience training is the basic core to all future training. Teaching and communication is what it's all about.
If you are using avoidance training or aversive methods (harsh methods, verbally or physically) you will only undermine your relationship with your dog while missing out on the fun that a motivational training approach can offer. Additionally, after the fact, discipline does not work, ( nor is it humane depending on the training methods used).
Often dog owners inadvertently reinforce their dog's misbehavior , by giving their dog lots of attention (Albeit negative attention) when they misbehave..
Always keep a lid on your anger. Never train your dog when your are feeling impatient or angry. Earning your dog's respect and establishing leadership is never accomplished by yelling, hitting, or handling your dog in any harsh manner. Moreover, studies have shown that fear and stress inhibit the learning process.
If your are experiencing problems or frustrations with any form of behavior, or you are struggling with your own training, you may e-mail our trainer with your specific problem & question, or inquire about classes or private sessions. Please list what methods you are using and include the following information.
