      Ren� Zagger was born 1/6/1973 in Leytonstone, London, and so is a Gemini. He attended Davenant School until he was 16 but when he started skipping school for plays and rehearsals was advised by his Headmaster to move to a drama school. Ren� took his headmaster's advice and joined Italia Conti. Ren�'s first job was a pop video for Wet Wet Wet - "I Remember" playing a young Marti Pellow - which he recorded whilst still at school. Ren� is well known for various roles including his part playing Mike Bentley in "Grange Hill" and Razors (the school boy lover) in the situation comedy 'Up The Garden Path' with Imelda Staunton. In the four-part drama 'Dangerous Lady' he played a character called Johnny and between 1996-97 he played Cyril (the Melvin Hayes Character) in Summer Holiday with Darren Day at the Apollo in Hammersmith. Ren� has supported Leyton Orient Football club (Division 3) since he was a young boy and continues to see as many games as possible. "I went to Wembley to see them play Scunthorpe in the 3rd Division Play Off's but we unfortunately lost one nil!"Ren� became a vegetarian a year and a half ago - " I suddenly realised what I was putting in my mouth and decided I couldn't eat meat anymore. So now when the family have a roast I sit down to an Aunt Bessie's Vegetarian Toad in the Hole". He loves travel and mountain biking - "there is a forest behind my house so I go off road biking when I get the time". His music influences are The Manics and the Stereophonics but as a child was brought up on Billy Joel. Ren�'s brother, Elliot or "Rube" is a policeman (aged 29) - he has been in force for ten years with the armed response unit. When Ren� was given his part on The Bill - his brother invited him to spend a week with the Essex Police, where, in just one week Ren� saw a lot of action.
