Samps. Real name: RD Joshua Joseph Sampia.
Josh. Unbeknowest to me, he and I lived less than a quarter mile apart when growing up (well, when he visited his dad). I do actually remember seeing someone who was probably him, but didn't really ever say hi or anything (me = shy boy).
I first met Josh on the football field. He came in a little late and played tight end for a while. He was on my side when we played during practice. While Landon Fotenot was playing - before his endurance faded then I got to go in, for mine was far superior to his, Josh and I would talk.
He was part of the Josh, Ben, Brandon morning group before we eventtually collided. For more on that read 'morning crowd.' Eventually the groups collided and we became friends, but it wasn't anything overly close.
Later, our sophomore year, we both ran track. This is where be became more close. It was in this year that us "big boys" - later called 'da putters' - started running.

It was here - in track - that we became more close. Being that we were the slow guys, we were often in the same race - 2 mile / 3200 meter - and often got ridiculed the same. It gets old being teased, but we dealt with all that together. We also had a competeion, where he and I would see who would win more races. Though it would seem to work opposite, this actually brought us closer as friends. I usually win those races, though Josh has a copious quantity of talent for all sports. I tend to work much harder to get what I want (a win). I know Josh has more talent than I do, because we were training together for a little while, and he was beating me badly... then he quit the "nick-training," and I beat him. |

I consider Josh a brother. We have gone through many things together and share the common background of being teased "back in the day." He thinks and does things differntly than I chose to sometimes, but you can't be the same as everyone, else you turn into "them." |

He is a good driver. He can drive tons of vehicles, and has the automatic thing down. He is also my "student" so to speak. I tell him what all of the technical mumbo jumbo truck stuff that confuses most people. It isn't hard to learn, just a lot for a beginner. |
