Session 1

Step 1, making a Yahoo email account.

(yep, that's right, you need a Yahoo! email account to "get" a webpage).

Now that you have all your tools and have done what you needed to do... we may begin.

WAIT!!!   What do you mean...  tools?  What did I need to do? Huhh? I don't get it....?

Well their is nothing to worry about. I was just testing you. :-)  In order to make a website with Yahoo!-Geocities you need a Yahoo account.

This step will guide you through that.

It should take about 20 minutes if you read the "terms and agreements" - if they have some for email accounts.  If you don't read them - which I do! why else would they write them? - it should take you about 5 to 10 minutes.

NOTE:
If you ALREADY have a yahoo email account, you can skip this... BUT your email address will be your website address! You can get another email account for your website.

TIP:

this is what I do...
If you computer will allow I would open another browser (that would be the netscape or internet explorer thingy - of course, with all rights reserved, etc).

This way you can follow the steps on my page... if you need to... and work on acually making you account. If you forget a step, simply look back at my page (by clicking on it - on the task bar). Of course you don't have to follow the tip, that is why it is in a differnt color and called a "tip" ... :-)

I think I have blabbed on enough ... so lets begin!!! YEAH!

1. Go to Yahoo! (<- that's a link)

2. Click on "Sign me up now"

TIP:
Your Yahoo ID will become your website address as well as your email account (the  "@yahoo.com" thing).

3. Choose your Yahoo ID. and password.

4. Pick your question from the choices. This is the "I forgot my password" question. It's not as though you'll need it, right? Nahh of course not... :)

Don't forget your answer... Use a birthday you will remember... its part of the "what's my password" process.

You will need a current email address. If you don't have one... I haven't heard of making one up... but you can try... it may work. I am not saying you should do that, I am just giving a possible solution to a problem.

5. Click the "submit" button. If all of your info is correct - to Yahoo standards... you should now have a yahoo account.

if the info is correct : scroll to the bottom of the page and click "to Yahoo! Mail" button at the bottom of the page... NOW check out your Yahoo account... :)
