SYNOPSIS - Sssshhh..... is a edge of the seat murder mystery thriller set in the winter of 2002. The peace and harmony of a beautiful town is shattered when a local girl, Malini Gujral (Simone Singh) is brutally killed one night. This has a tragic effect on her bubbly younger sister Mahek (Tanisha) who goes into a shell and cannot seem to come to terms with this tragedy. With the help of Mahek's friends (Karan Nath and Dino Moreo) she goes away to make a fresh start, little realizing that not all of them will be coming back alive.
Another horror flick? Yep it sure is....but this movie is a retake of Hollywood's "Scream." I mainly wanted to see the movie for Kajol's little sister Tanisha since it was her debut film. When I first heard about Tanisha joining the Bollywood film industry. I was excited since Kajol is my favorite actress and she hasn't been in a movie in a while. I miss her. Plus her debut is with model Dino Morea and cutie Karan Nath.
Of course the storyline isn't anything new but still I watched the movie with an open mind. The movie starts off really well. It just starts dragging towards the middle because it's a Bollywood film so there has to be a love triangle in the film somewhere. Throw in a couple of songs and it's still an all Desi film although it seems to be a horror flick.
Tanisha is cute and only acts okay. She doesn't have the same on-screen presence as older sister Kajol. I'll give Tanisha a break only since this is her debut film and she didn't do much but cry and scream in the movie. I wonder what her next release would be. In some angles, Tanisha resembled Kajol a lot. They have the same nose! However, overall, Tanisha resembles Tabu a lot.
Dino is a cutie pie. I was glad to see him again but he looks so bad in the movie. He needs a haircut badly! I can see why he portrayed this look because of his character. Karan Nath is the cutie pie in the movie. I really liked him in "Paagalpan" and was wondering when I would see him on the big screen again. He really overshadowed Dino and at times Tanisha too. The rest of the supporting cast does well in his/her own short role.
"Ssshh" is not the best movie nor is it the worst. It's definitely worth a watch. It is a lot better than you would expect. Just watch the movie for cutie pie Karan Nath.
