SYNOPSIS -  The death of a successful industrialist test the skill and patience of ACP Malavika Chauhan (Sushmita Sen), a celebrated officer and an idol to many a woman in the country.

ACP Malvika Chauhan starts to do what she's best at - solving difficult crimes. This investigation is the biggest challenge she has faced till now in her career, a journey so daring that she did not know it existed.

The murder prima facie is strange as there seems to be no clue or motive of any kind that could form the basis of the crime. The investigation leads to some inexplicable clues including the stab wound on the neck of the victim. The post-mortem rules out any foreign particles in the blood- a fact that defies logic. ACP Malvika finds herself up against a wall.

Till she spots the one crack in the case.

As she gets deeper, the deeper into the investigation, she realises the murder to be the handlework of a genius - a criminal mind that has left everyone stunned with its brilliant execution.

I didn't have any expectations for this film because it was low budget.  I didn't really want to see this movie at first but I heard it was worth a watch...so why not?

Sushmita Sen is back with a bang!  She always had potential but everyone was signing Aishwarya Rai instead of her just because Ash was "more beautiful." (and annoying!)  Both are gorgeous in their own ways but I love Sush's voice.  No wonder she took Miss Universe and beat Ash to compete for Miss Universe.  Ash won Miss World but could have gone to Miss Universe.  I know Miss World isn't as popular as Miss Universe.  I know the two will always be compared (just like the recent Miss Universe Lara Dutta and Miss World Priyanka Chopra)  What I don't understand is why no one is willing to give Sushmita a chance to show her acting capabilities!  She proves it again in "Samay - When Time Strikes."

The storyline is about a murder mystery.  But because this is Bollywood, the storyline is not original.  The movie has some parts that is similiar to Hollywood films such as "Seven" and "The Bone Collector."

Sush's acting is just amazing and very impressive.  No matter what role is given to her, she does her best to perfect herself.  Too bad she just doesn't get the opportunity to show it off.  "Samay - When Time Strikes" is clearly her movie all the way.  However, because the movie is not a typical masala flick, she will not get much recognition for it.  I hope at least she will get the Critic's Award for Best Actress.  Hey, Karisma Kapoor can get it with Shakti - The Power, why not Sushmita?

Movie is a much watch, not only for Sushmita fans but for the storyline.  It's very different from typical Hindi films.  Sush's spectacular performance will make you become a fan.
