Heading powers that science cannot explain and voodoo practices that defy all logic are just some of the instances of paranormal activity that beautiful Dr. Gayatri (Bipasha Basu) is busy investigating.  Her experiments bring her with her team of fellow scientists from America to India where they encounter the gifted Varun (Sanjay Dutt) who has inexplicable paranormal powers.

Also starring Suniel Shetty in a never before seen role as the formidable Bhuria and Ishaa Koppikar as his ravishing consort Lali, Mani Shankar's Rudraksh is easily the most extraordinary film that the Indian screen has every seen to-date.  Produced by Nitin Manmohan and Sohail Maklai, this path breaking supernatural thriller unfolds its mystery in several stages, holding you spellbound as it races to its nailbiting climax which comes as a revelation.

I've been waiting to see "Rudraksh" for several weeks now.  I must admit when I saw the pictures, it did look like a weird movie.  When I saw the trailers, I was blown away at how different and creative the movie is going to be.  Anything that is supernatural makes me curious to watch.  I have a knack for watching those type of tv shows - Charmed, Roswell, Smallville - there's also Buffy and Angel too.

Suniel is one underrated actor.  I'm glad he kept on acting and doing different type of roles because "Rudraksh" is his best yet.  I loved him in "Dhadkan" but he was overshadowed by sweet boy Akshay Kumar in the movie.  Sanju is good.  He fits the role completely.  After the success of "Munnabhai MBBS," I was very excited to see him again.

More and more of Bipasha.  I'm glad.  Plus her voice is not dubbed in this film. I do like her voice a lot.  I wish the Bhatt's would stop dubbing her voice.  She is very confident in her role.  What I don't like about her character is during one scene where she's at a club.  A scientist who wants to win the Nobel Peace Prize at a club??  I don't mind the club scene there, I just didn't think her showing up would made the song Ishq Kudaai any better.  When will I ever see Isha in a better role?  I thought her role would be much better but it's not the best.  It's probably the best I've seen her in yet.  I was waiting for a cat fight between her and Bips but it never happened.

The story of "Rudraksh" is very interesting.  I like the storytelling but the direction got lost or went around different turns.  I think Mani should have spent more time on editing on the film.  I give him props for attempting something different.  The songs could have been deleted from the film.

Overall, the movie is worth a watch for those supernatural thriller fans.
