SYNOPSIS
- Main
Prem Ki Diwani Hoon is the story of Sanjana, a girl of today's generation full
of life and vibrant ecstasy. It is a story that unfolds the beauty of love...
the beauty of Prem... in a manner that is intense, yet so touching that it will
make every heart skip a beat. This passionate love story is a portrayal of the
ultimate height of timeless love that Sanjana treasures in her heart for Prem.
Woah a Barjatya film without Sallu....that isn't right. How can he have a film without Sallu? He's the famous PREM! No other actor fits that name better than Sallu. Funny thing about this movie is both Hrithik and Abhishek's character's name in the film are Prem.
I read
nothing but bad reviews on MPKDH. Maybe the expectations were too
high. Maybe a Baj film without Sallu with the name Prem did
it. Whatever maybe the reason, the film bombed in India. However, in
the USA, it did good business. I don't understand how some movies do so
well overseas but so poorly in India. Different tastes in different
countries, I guess. The NRI's are more loyal to their fans than the Indian
residents.
Hrithik has not had a hit since "Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham." Is he just really overrated and hyped? I admit he is overhyped but he can act. Some people say he's not a good actor and overacted in MPKDH. However, I disagree. I thought he did a good job especially towards the end of the movie. Sure he was better in K3G but every star has flops in his/her career. MPKDH didn't do justice for Hrithik but "Koi...Mil Gaya" did. I saw KMG before I saw MPKDH. All I can say is Hrithik shut up all the critics who talked smack about his acting.
I
didn't see what the big hype was over Abhi's acting in MPKDH. I don't
think he's a flop actor either. He was great in "Refugee" and
"Om Jai Jagadish" but he just haven't had an opportunity to show his
talent. Look at Akki, Ajay, and Suniel - it took them some time to prove
to everyone their talents. I think the critics have too much expectations
from Abhi because he's AMITACH BACHCHAN's son. But in MPKDH, Abhi was just
average. I didn't see anything special with his character. He was
just the typical nice guy. Anyone could have done his role.
The
surprise package is Kareena Kapoor. I never liked her when she entered the
Bollywood industry. She was overrated, overhyped, and just another star's
kid. She played the same roles but it was recently that I started to like
her. Even though I thought she had more talent than the other newcomers,
it was her personality that pulled her back. I felt that directors and
producers mainly signed her up because she was a Kapoor and not because of her
talent. She is also looking more and more beautiful and natural in every
movie. I give her a lot of credit for looking that good since she was
known to be a fat kid. Both the Kapoor sisters have proven their
talent and beauty in the movie world. Kareena was amazing in MPKDH.
She looked really natural and there was no overacting in her part.
Overall, the movie isn't as bad as the critics say. There are moments in the film. The storyline is not the best but worth a watch once. For any Kareena fans, this movie is a must because not only does she look stunning, she acts great.
