SYNOPSIS -  After a lackluster Kyaa Dil Ne Kahaa Tusshar Kapor and Esha Deol are pairing once more in Balaji Film’s thriller Kucch To Hai which is directed jointly by Anil V. Kumar and Anurag Bose.

A mystery thriller that is believed to be the Hindi remake of the Hollywood hit ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’, Kucch To Hai is the story of a group of young friends given to playing pranks upon each other.

Things take a sudden twist when one such practical joke leads to the death of a man. The six friends get rid of the body and consent to never discuss this chapter of their lives ever again. But none is able to drive the guilt out of his mind.

Three years roll by. Everything seems hunky dory until the six begin to get chased by the man they thought had died that unfateful night.

Thriller remakes seem to be the trend these days for Bollywood.  Raaz has seemed to set the trend remaking Hollywood hits “What Lies Beneath” mix with “Fatal Attraction.”  After that, producers and directors have rushed to get their scripts started.  From “Bhoot” (remake of “Stir of Echoes” and “The Gift”) to                , what can go wrong?  The horror trend came back to Hollywood just several years ago too and Bollywood is going that way too.

“Kuch To Hai” is a remake of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.”  From the promos, the movie does seem interesting.  However, many people aren’t impress with the star cast.  Even though Tusshar Kapoor and Esha Deol are dating in real life and look good together.  They still haven’t impress many people with their acting.  But the movie is directed by Tusshar’s younger sister Ektaa, so can answer many questions.

To me, Tusshar was good in his debut hot film “Mujhe Kucch Kehta Hai.”  It’s funny how he got some fans afterwards but didn’t maintain much now.  He does need to work on his facial expressions at time but he isn’t as bad as some people made him out to be.  He’s just average in “Kuch To Hai.”  He’s just there basically.  The best thing about Tusshar is his dancing; and on top of that, his dancing with Esha since both of them are great dancers.

I used to think Esha was very overrated cause she was a star’s daughter.  It was because I heard and read so much about her before her debut film.  I felt the same way about her best friend Kareena Kapoor but she proved she can act.  Esha isn’t a bad actress, she just needs to work a little harder on her acting.  She does look better in her films but she still has too much eye makeup on.

Newcomer Natasha is pretty.  I thought she could do better on her acting because of her role but she wasn’t too impressive either.  She just looks great in the movie.  That’s basically it.

Of these three stars, none seem to really impress.  It’s up to Rishi Kapoor to make the movie better.  I am a big fan of his older films.  Sure he’s getting older but he’s still good at what he does.  He was so handsome in “Bobby” and it was great to see him again in “Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi” and “Raju Chacha.”  He seemed to be the only one who was good in “Kuch To Hai.”

Overall, the movie could have been much much better.  It’s sad that this thriller movie didn’t scare us but instead either bored us or the acting scared us.  Only towards the end, it got better but still wasn’t that great.  If you’re a big horror fan, this film is not for you.  Only watch this film if you’re really really bored, have nothing to do, or a die-hard Tusshar and/or Esha fan.
