Wow, it's good to see Jugal Hansraj again. He's actually my fave Mohabbatein guy while most people's fave would be Jimmy Shergill. I kept waiting and waiting to see him again in another movie...but it never happened. Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham doesn't even count for his 2 second guest appearance. I was so disappointed with the hype of him being in the movie for ONLY 2 seconds!! Honestly, I missed him when I saw K3G at the theatres. It wasn't until I bought the DVD that I had to re-watch that scene again and again.
I was so happy when I heard about HPTSPB. Especially since it is also a Rajshri film. I know his films are family entertainers. I didn't mind the newcomer Tina Ranaa. She looks pretty on the covers and posters.
Jugal has a lot of potential and a more promising career for him. I just didn't understand why he didn't have any films releasing. Maybe he just wanted to take a break. He was awesome in Mohabbatein but he failed to deliver a great performance in HPTSPB. He wasn't bad or anything. It was just nothing special that he did. His character was really cute but it seemed like Jugal was bored with the character or something. There were times his facial expressions matched the personality. At other times, it looked like he wanted the climax to hurry up. I know Jugal is a good actor. Maybe his next film, he will make another comeback.
Tina
looked prettier on the covers and posters than in the movie. She reminded
me of Manisha Koirala and has Shilpa Shetty's smile. Her voice was not the
best either. Most people talked about Kim Sharma's voice in Mohabbatein
and didn't like her pairing with Jugal much but I think Jugal and Kim had much
more chemistry than Jugal and Tina did. Tina's acting is also just
average. Nothing impressive about her. She did look cute at times
with the right clothes, hair, and makeup; but she still has a while to go before
anyone can call her "talented."
The
storyline was weak. It is a typical 80s type of movie. In many ways,
it reminded me of Maine Pyar Kiya. I don't mind if it was 80s like but
some scenes were just too fake and cheesy. But if you like family
entertainers, you can watch HPTSPB but don't expect any Maine Pyar Kiya or Kuch
Kuch Hota Hai.
