SYNOPSIS -  By the river Ganga lies the imaginary district town of Tejpur in Bihar. Amit Kumar, played by Ajay Devgan, is the new superintendent of Police.

In Tejpur Amit encounters an ensemble of colourful charachters. The uncrowned emperor - Sadhu Yadav, his debauched son Sundar, the self-righteous journalist Rabidas, the policemen who close their eyes to everything around... The beedi-smoking corrupt DSP Bhurelal and Bachcha Yadav, the policeman who imspired by Amit makes life-transforming choices.

I didn't have any expectations for this film or anything because I never heard of it!  I honestly did not.  I have grown to love and admire Ajay's acting more and more over the years.  I am glad he is getting recognize.  I remember he was always known as the action star.  Being married to one of the most talented actresses Kajol and having a baby girl Nysa sure have turned his world around.  I really started to appreciate Ajay's acting more after "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam."  He even stole the limelight from one of my other faves - Salman Khan!

Gracy Singh haven't had much movies out after "Lagaan" and I don't see why not.  She only had "Armaan" earlier this year and did a great job in the movie.  She hardly has a role in "Gangaajal" but she does well in what is given to her.  I would like her to show her acting skills off more.  I know she won several awards and even beating my fave female newcomer Bipasha Basu.

Storyline is nothing new.  Good cop versus corrupted police system.  But I did enjoy the movie somewhat because I like these sort of movies.  The main downfall of the movie is the dragged ending.  Ajay is great at acting and I love him more and more watching his films.

I wouldn't put "Gangaajal" on the top list of films or would recommend renting it over others.  But if you're an Ajay fan, this movie is worth a watch but definitely not worth a keeper.
