SYNOPSIS - Dil Vil Pyar Vyar has four love stories tthat are interwoven together in an interesting way. To boot are the evergreen songs of yesteryears, set to tune by none other than the legendary music director late R.D. Burman.

The first story revolves around Krish (R. Madhavan) and Raksha (Namrata Shirodkar), two aspiring singers who want to make it big in the showbiz industry. The two are happily married and want to stay together on their course to the world of razzmatazz.

Their relationship, however, is poisoned by ego, pride and insecurity after Raksha meets success ahead of Krish. Their marital bliss is broken and the once-happily-married couple is forced to part ways.

The second love story is centered on a widower Dev (Sanjay Suri) who has led an aloof life ever since his wife Payal (Dipannita Sharma) died soon after their honeymoon.

Along with his sister Rachna (Bhavna Pani), Dev moves from Pune to Mumbai where he meets Gauri (Sonali Kulkarni), who lives with her mentally retarded brother Gaurav (Rakesh Bapat).

Dev and Gauri fall for each other but keep their distance, as the shadow of Gaurav's illness looms large over their foundling relationship. On the other hand, there sprouts the third love story between Dev’s sister Rachna and Gauri’s brother Gaurav.

The fourth love story is the story of a multi-millionaire Hrithik (Jimmy Shergill) and a simple girl Jojo (Hrishitaa Bhatt). Although both their families want them married Jojo doesn’t want to wed Hrithik until he has earned his name independent of his parent’s credentials. (Apna Ka Choice)

Wow, a "huge" starcast.  Most of the cast are newcomers or  have made very few films.  Out of the guys, my fave of the lot is Jimmy Shergill and for the female is Namrata Shirodkar.  The music has already been playing on the airways for a while now.  Of course everyone knows that they are remakes of the old RD Burman musics.

I was mainly interested to see how four love stories would fit into one film again and how this music will keep the relationships alive.  It kinda reminded me of Mohabbatein but of course, every film that comes out now will "remind" you of another film even though it is not suppose to be like that.

The cutest couple to watch on screen are definitely Jimmy and Hrishitaa.  It's one of those loveable love stories where one of the couple doesn't like the other one at first and they both start to fall in love.  Jimmy is natural, sweet, cute, and charming...just like in all his movies.  I hope to see him in a lead role soon.  Hrishtitaa looks beautiful.  She reminds me a little of Alyssa Milano because of their beautiful smiles.  I saw potential in her in her debut film Asoka but I failed to see Shararat yet.  I am thinking of renting the movie for her since I think she's a good potential actress.

However, my favorite love story is definitely Maddy and Namrata's.  I think their love story is so real also.  From a supportive to a jealous? husband later on....Maddy proves that he can act.  I hope people will recognize his talent.  He was great in his debut film Rehna Hai Tere Dil Main and way better than Tusshar Kapoor.  I like Namrata a lot too but I think she has more talent than what she is showing on screen.  She was good in Pukar and awesome in Vastav.

The love story is sweet between Sanjay Suri and Sonali Kulkarni.  However, I felt that Sonali could have done better in choosing a better role.  Again, both have talent as they both have proven already.  Sanjay has done that in Daman and Sonali in Mission Kashmir.  Maybe it was their weaker characters in this movie but their love story was one of the ones that was overlooked.

We failed to see much of the cutie Rakesh Bapat in Tum Bin and we fail to see much of him in Dil Vil Pyar Vyar too.  He doesn't do much but look very adorable.  He does have one song where he dances and looks really cute with Riya Sen (thank goodness she didn't act!!  She is VERY gorgeous but the girl can NOT act).  I felt that Bhavna was "forced" to "love" Rakesh in the movie.

Overall, the movie is enjoyable to watch.  The music is great and choreographed wonderfully.  With many storylines, it is hard to tell the story within several hours.  I also felt that the ending was rushed too much but it is worth a watch.  Many films these days have the "magical" feeling missing from it.  DVPV has some of that with all the newcomers (well, the ones who hardly had any films out).

My rating - 7.5 out of 10
