SYNOPSIS - ‘Dil Hai Tumhara’ has evergreen Rekha plllaying Saritji, a widowed mother of two feisty young girls Shalu (Preity Zinta) and Nimmu (Mahima Chaudhary). Shalu is Saritji’s stepdaughter and therefore always feels a little neglected than Nimmu, Saritji’s real daughter.

Although a tomboyish teenybopper on the surface Shalu is deep inside very strongly attached to her stepmother. But Saritji does not reciprocate Shalu’s emotions with equal intensity.

Shalu finds friendship and affection in Samir (Jimmy Shergill), a smalltime ventriloquist who seems to understand her better than anyone else does.

The two sister’s lives are turned topsy-turvy with the entry of a rich and handsome businessman Dev (Arjun Rampal). Both Shalu and Nimmu are drawn towards him. While Nimmu is sure about her sentiments for Dev, Shalu feels torn between the two men in her life.

That is when an unexpected event takes place and puts Shalu close to the person she loves the most – her mother!  (Apna Ka Choice)

Okay, first of all, I didn't have too much expectations from the movie. I already had a feeling that it would be kinda like Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega because of the two sisters, one "adopted" - both loving the same guy and one sacrafising thing. And then I read some bad reviews. Some good too but overall, I still wanted to see the film for the starcast.

The movie is a Preity Zinta all the way! I always liked her. I liked her ever since Solider but became her fan after Kya Kehna. I thought she did a good job in the movie. I also think she is a very underrated actress who can go further and do better in her acting career. I also feel the same for Mahima who I also liked since Pardes but more after Dil Kya Kare who overshadowed my fave Kajol. I couldn't wait to see them as sisters in DHT.

The movie is enjoyable at times...it has its moments. I was happy to see Preity comeback with DHT but the weak storyline will probably not turn the film into a hit. Average maybe but not hit. The short haircut suits Preity. Her role kinda reminds me of the more modern sister like in HDJPK but her character Shalu is more emotional. She is a sweet girl who loves her mother and sister so much and  keeps all her sadness inside. You can feel her pain because Preity plays Shalu so well. I am glad to see Preity in a better character because she has that potential.

Mahima does a great job in her role too. She hasn't been seen much or has been playing second fiddle. Although Preity has a bigger role than her in the movie, Mahima still plays her character well. She looks even more gorgeous than ever. The desi clothes on her looks beautiful too.

Arjun. My hot model. I was disappointed to see him in such a small role. His facial expressions just didn't seem right in some comedy scenes. His character is not the best either. He looks good in the movie like always.

I wish to see Jimmy in a lead role soon. He did so good in Mohabbatein and now....he has been playing where he doesn't show off his acting skills. His character was very useless in the movie. Just another excuse to have a "love interest." He doesn't do bad in his role...just that it was useless.

The music I grew to love even more. My fave one to listen to is Chayya Hai Jo Dil but my fave one to watch is Sahiba O Sahiba.

Overall the movie isn't bad but not great either. Mainly watch it for Preity.
