SYNOPSIS -  Baghban is the story of Raj Malhotra and his family - his wife Pooja and his four sons. Just like a gardener (Baghban) who plants a tree and nurses it in the hope that he would be able to bask in its shade when he grows old, Raj Malhotra and his wife Pooja have raised a family of four sons who are now nicely settled in their respective professions.

Their life is filled with love and prosperity, and all this has been possible because Raj has invested all his income including his provident fund and gratuity in his children who according to him are his assets that would secure his future.

But when he retires, life suddenly changes. None of the fours sons is ready to take their parents responsibility. To the extent that Raj and Pooja have to depend on the kindness of strangers. How Raj Malhotra through strife and hardship overcomes this turmoil and comes up a winner is the central crux of Baghban.

It is a story that asks a question from society that if a man makes you walk the first step of your life... Why can't you help him walk the last step.

Yeah Hema's comeback movie!  I loved her.  The first Hindi film I ever saw was "Seeta Aur Geeta" and it starred none other than - Hema Malini...in a double role.  Another bonus is Amitach Bachchan and Salman's Khan's presence in the film.  I know Sallu only has a guest appearance but it's also the first time he's paired with Mahima Chaudhary (not including "Tere Naam" because she was only there for a song) and Amitach Bachchan.

Another family film.  I love family films.  Not necessarily set on love; however, most problems do occur because of love obstacles.  "Baghban" is so different.  It is a family film but it deals with the relationship of a husband and wife/ parents and children.  There is no conflict because mom/dad will not let son/daughter marry someone else.  It's nothing of that sort.  It's all about loving your parents and what relationships you have as a family.

It's a one of a kind movie.  Best performance from Amitach Bachchan who stole the show all the way.  Hema is quiet, yet good...and still looks very stunning!  Sallu and Mahima only adds flavor to the film.  Sallu is just as good and sweet as he is in his other famous guest appearance movie "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai."  He makes you remember him in every scene.

The movie is a must watch.  It made me think and made me appreciate my parents more.  I highly recommend this film for everyone to watch.
